Silent Meditation

Let us have a great esteem of the Lord's Prayer; let it be
the model and pattern of all our prayers…It contains the chief things that we have to ask, or God has to bestow. – Thomas Watson

*Corporate Prayer of Confession

People: Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts: cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with reverent and humble hearts we may draw near to you, confessing our faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ your Son.

Words of Comfort and Promise

Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live in righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Confession of Faith

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.
